Lambaréné
Start Planning
Lambaréné is Gabon's seventh-largest city with 26,998 inhabitants. The town is centered around an island that includes the local market and a gas station. The market overlooks the riverbank, from where pirogues take passengers up and down the river to populated areas along the banks.
To get there, we take the national road, which takes us 3 hours to reach the town. All the while, we take in the lush scenery. During our stay in Lambaréné, we have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, including a tour of the town, a pirogue trip, a visit to the St François Xavier church, a visit to the Albert Schweitzer museum, and a bike ride with a coupé-coupe stop. For catering, we eat mainly local dishes.
